“Prom Shop” Success!

Eggar’s School held its inaugural “Prom Shop” for year 11 girls during the spring term.

Since the PTA is fortunate enough to have the expertise of both a high-level Donna Karan designer plus a top consultant for Clinique amongst its active members, it really did seem too good an opportunity to miss! Sophie and Kim organised a terrific boutique- style experience for the year 11 girls. Sue at The wardrobe in Alton set the ball rolling by donating several beautiful dresses and shoes. Sophie worked tirelessly within an extremely tight time-frame to ensure that the girls had a fabulous selection of high-end dresses, shoes and accessories to choose from on the night. 130 dresses and 50+ pairs of shoes (plus bags and jewellery) in 3 weeks is a great achievement!

Kim did Clinique make-up tutorials on the night and also arranged for Clinique goody bags to be given out to the girls who attended.

Prom Shop was a huge success. Many girls picked up dresses and shoes by top designers (many with intact labels!) for a fraction of their retail price. Most of these items had been worn once or twice (if they were worn at all) and were clearly far superior to items available to buy on the High Street for a similar price. Thanks to all involved for a truly wonderful event.

If you have a dress, shoes or other accessories suitable for the Year 11 Prom Shop in Autumn 2018, please do let us know!
